At last, my first useful post. Nothing to be hugely excited about, but if you're an XNA/.NET game enthusiast you might like to take a look at a little tech-demo of my engine (entitled MyRPG) and world editor.
Download the 24-03-07 release here.
IMPORTANT: I've found a bug where no error is returned if you do not have the OGG Vorbis codecs for music installed. I will try to package them with my next release, but in the meanwhile please use this link to download and install the codecs (< 1MB).
Any comments are welcome, but remember it's only a little tech demo and has huge gaps. (I have hesitated calling it an alpha version even!) Anyway, have fun with that... I hope to make a following release with a lot more fun aspects (including a flashy particle engine) in the coming days.

When i click play the game stops on the loading screen at 100%
It looks like a pretty good engine you got here, just need to make sure the game loads :)

Good to see the interest. I saw the post on your blog and replied there - that's great that you posted about it, thanks. I was beta (or alpha) testing the same version with a friend of mine and he ran into the same problem. Eventually I figured out it's because the OGG Vorbis codecs were not installed. I'll include them in the next version, but in the meanwhile please refer to the edit of the post or my comment on your blog.
A few things to look out for in the demo:
-Hold down the key below Esc to see the FPS rate.
-Move the character using the arrow keys.
-Moving the character down the far left side you'll encounter a dialog box that animates.
-Try and find out the teleport location. ;)
-Collect gold coins and you'll see your money stat increase.
-The rest of the features and buttons should be self-explanatory...
Ok, yes I really need a readme.txt. I should have an improved installer with the codecs (and even MSI?) next time, so look forward to that. Have fun anyway with this.
Could you please check your setup files on this webpage and make sure they work for you when you click 'run' b/c everytime I click on the download link and click 'run' it gives me an error saying, "The setup files are corrupted... Please obtain a new copy of the program..." I don't know what to do...
i also receive the error of corrupt file. was looking forward to trying it out.
